HotJava uses a fixed-size memory area which needs to be cleaned up occasionally, and which grows automatically if the browser runs out of memory.
In the bar graph above, the red area represents the memory currently used and the green area represents the memory available. The number shown is the percentage of memory currently used.
Garbage collection to free up memory is usually done automatically, but you can start a cleanup at any time by pressing the button below.
